Six-storey building in Karachi’s Rinchor Lane collapses

A six-story building in Karachi’s Ranchor Lane area collapsed on Monday, however there were no loss of life as the complex was evacuated.

According to details, there were 24 flats and a couple of warehouses in the building that was built 12 years ago. 

Utility connections to the residential complex were already disconnected by the local authorities.

The building was evacuated in the wee hours on Monday after cracks appeared. The officials present on the site are of the view that 'substandard material' was used in the construction.
