Wasim Akhtar's son, guards accused of assaulting youth on New Year's Eve

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar's son and guards have been nominated in an FIR for allegedly assaulting a youngster on New Year's Eve, Geo News reported on Friday. 

The victim of the alleged assault, Hasnain Haider, said in the report that Taimur Wasim, the mayor's son and his guards stopped at a petrol pump in Defence phase 8 on New Year's Eve. The accused were traveling in a double-cabin vehicle. 

According to the victim, the confrontation began when the guard accompanying Tamiur resorted to aerial firing, prompting Hasnain to ask him why he was doing so. In response, the guard and the mayor's son allegedly beat him up. 

So far, neither the mayor nor his son have responded to the allegations.
