BZU dismisses professor for harassing, blackmailing disabled female student
MULTAN: A Bahauddin Zakaria University (BZU) professor who harassed a disabled female student was dismissed following an investigation into the matter, the varsity's administration confirmed in a notification issued Tuesday.
According to the institute’s spokesperson, Professor Wasif Noman was accused a few months ago of harassing a disabled female student and blackmailing her with a video.
The BZU administration it had constituted an inquiry committee to probe the allegations following the complaint, the spokesperson added. The committee had found Professor Noman guilty on all charges and advised he be fired from his post.
BZU Registrar Sohaib Rashid said the decision to dismiss the professor was taken on Tuesday in light of the committee's investigation report and a notification was issued accordingly.
